Final evaluation times will be communicated to registered families prior to the tryout.
WHAT TO BRINGPlayers should arrive ready to compete and bring:

Basketball shoes
Athletic clothes
Water bottle
Any necessary braces, supports, or personal athletic equipment

Basketballs will be provided.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in, get changed if needed, and be ready to begin on time.
WHAT TO EXPECTThe evaluation will include:

Ball handling and decision-making
Shooting and finishing
1-on-1 and small-sided competition
3-on-3 and/or 5-on-5 live play
Defensive effort and communication
Basketball IQ and decision-making
Competitiveness and coachability

We are evaluating more than just who scores the most points. We are looking for players who compete, communicate, make good decisions, play with effort, and fit the needs of each team.
AFTER THE TRYOUTTeam Carolina Winter is a roster-based program, and attending the evaluation does not guarantee placement.
Players selected for a roster will receive a Team Carolina Winter roster offer following the evaluation.
No Team Carolina payment is required at tryout registration. Payment is only required after a player receives and accepts a roster offer.
Players who begin with Winter Development and are later selected for Team Carolina will receive credit for Winter Development payments already made toward the $800 Team Carolina Winter season fee.

### PARTICIPANT WAIVER, ASSUMPTION OF RISK & RELEASE OF LIABILITY I, as the parent or legal guardian of the participant being registered, understand and acknowledge that participation in Team Carolina and The Hoop Lab basketball evaluations, tryouts, training, drills, athletic activities, and related programming involves physical activity and carries inherent risks of injury. These risks may include, but are not limited to, falls, collisions, contact with other participants or equipment, muscle strains, sprains, fractures, cuts, bruises, concussions, overexertion, and other injuries associated with basketball and athletic participation. I voluntarily authorize my child to participate and knowingly accept and assume the inherent risks associated with participation. I understand that injuries may occur even when reasonable coaching, supervision, instruction, equipment, and safety precautions are provided. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to release, waive, and hold harmless **The Hoop Lab, Team Carolina, their owners, coaches, trainers, employees, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, and facility representatives** from claims or liability arising from the ordinary and inherent risks associated with my child's participation, except for claims or liability that cannot legally be waived. I certify that my child is physically capable of participating in basketball activities unless I have informed The Hoop Lab or Team Carolina otherwise. I understand that it is my responsibility to disclose any known medical conditions, injuries, allergies, medications, physical limitations, or other circumstances that could affect my child's ability to participate safely. In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I authorize The Hoop Lab and Team Carolina staff or representatives to obtain reasonable emergency medical assistance for my child if I cannot be reached promptly. I understand that I remain responsible for any medical, transportation, or other healthcare expenses resulting from my child's participation. I understand that registration for a Team Carolina evaluation or tryout **does not guarantee selection or placement on a Team Carolina roster**. Team placement is determined by The Hoop Lab and Team Carolina based on evaluations, roster needs, appropriate age/grade placement, team balance, and available competition opportunities.
