Move of the Week
This week we focus on the outside foot jab step. This move creates separation from defenders recovering from the initial offensive move going downhill. The move is performed once the offensive player has a step ahead of the defender or the defender on their hip.
This week we focus on the hop step finish where the player starts the move with a jumpstop pound dribble meaning both feet plant on the ground at the same time in unison with a pound dribble. After the pound dribble the player hops across the defenders body to the open space for the finish.
Our move of the week is the goofy foot finish. The goofy foot finish is unique because instead of taking two steps for the basic lay up, the player takes one, which throws of the timing of the defender so that they can not block your shot off the second step. It also creates a Ball U Man situation by using your off hand and knee as separating tools from the defender. Watch our one and 2 ball drills and execution of the goofy foot finish here!
